Two Lies and a Truth (also called 1 Truth 2 Lies, 1 truth and 2 lies, or 2 lies and 1 truth) flips the classic game. Instead of hiding one lie, you hide one truth among two lies. It sounds like a small change, but it makes the game much harder, because you have to invent two believable statements and your friends have to find the single real one.
It is a great second round after the classic version: players already know each other’s style, and the twist catches them out. Party Mode above is set up for it. The truth gets a TRUE stamp and the lies get LIE stamps, and people who find the truth score points.

How to play Two Lies and a Truth
Think of one real, surprising truth
Something your group does not know: a trip, a skill, an odd habit or a childhood story. Surprising truths are the heart of this version.
Invent two believable lies
Make them about as surprising as your truth, so it does not stand out. The ideas page and the good lies list help.
Say all three in any order
Keep the same tone and pace for each. In Party Mode you can say them aloud or type them in privately first.
Everyone votes for the truth
Tap each person’s guess, use a secret ballot by passing the phone, or count hands for a big group.
Reveal and score
Players who find the truth get a point, and the storyteller gets a point for everyone who picked a lie. Then tell the story behind your truth!

Tips for Two Lies and a Truth
- Make your truth the strangest statement. People assume the weird one is a lie, so a weird truth hides best.
- Keep your two lies consistent with each other: same level of detail, same kind of topic.
- Use it as a second round. After a classic round, players expect one lie, so the switch catches them out.
- For big groups, the “Count hands” voting option is the quickest way to tally guesses.

Each player says three statements about themselves: two lies and one truth. Everyone else guesses which one is the truth. Players who find it score a point, and the storyteller scores for everyone who picked a lie.
Is 1 truth 2 lies the same game?
Yes. “1 truth 2 lies”, “1 truth and 2 lies”, “2 lies one truth” and “Two Lies and a Truth” are all names for the same game: one real statement hidden among two made-up ones.
What is the difference between Two Truths and a Lie and Two Lies and a Truth?
In the classic game you hide one lie and people hunt for it. In Two Lies and a Truth you hide one truth and people hunt for that. It is harder, because you have to invent two believable lies.
